Yes, something to definitely keep at the front of our minds when teaching children, or people of any age for that matter, although what would happen if I one of my students didn't move for weeks while she/he observed and processed it all. Perhaps because children do not always observe the same conventions because they haven't learnt them yet, they are free to behave naturally and simply react in the way that they choose or feels most comfortable. Great article. I have some kids in my pre-school class that watches more than they dance. I will have this article in mind next time I teach.
